Mooring Envelopes and Vessels
A vessel within the canals must fit into their allocated mooring envelopes to be compliant. It is recommended that vessels fit 1 meter within their mooring envelope on all sides. This ensures the safest access to your pontoon regardless of your vessel size, moveability or operator experience. This also ensures the waterway between your vessel and the neighbouring vessels is not encroached on in any way. Crossing your neighbours mooring envelope to moor your vessel on your pontoon is not recommended without your neighbours’ permission.
Before purchasing a new vessel or a property here, we recommend you contact the MCCML team to discuss your vessel as a part of your due diligence before buying.
Securing Your Vessel
To ensure your vessel is properly secured, we recommend boat owners adopt the tie-down method found in the diagram. To view, click the Boat Tie-down Illustration button.
During weather events, it is highly recommended the tie-down method demonstrated in the illustration below is adhered to, to ensure the safe keeping of your vessel and structures, but also ensure the safety of all canal front Property Owners assets.
