Selling and Buying on Marsden Cove Canal

Deed of Covenant Transfer

Selling your property on the canal front? Once your sale has gone unconditional, we ask that you (if you are selling privately) or your Sales Agent lets us know. Upon Settlement of your property, the new owners are required to sign a Deed of Covenant.

The Solicitor representing you, the previous owner needs to contact the Marsden Cove Canals Management (MCCML) Administrator at admin@marsdencovecanals.co.nz. The Administrator will put the Solicitor in touch with the MCCML Solicitors to commence the Deed of Transfer process.

The cost of the Deed of Covenant transfer is the responsibility of the previous owner, and it is $350.00 + GST.

Once we have the signed Deed of Covenant on file, we will remove you, the previous owners’ details from our system and then all responsibilities including annual levies etc transfers to the new owners.

Canal levies are issued to all canal front property owners, annually.
